Jamie Greenwood
Founder-Football 4 The Future

My name is Jamie Greenwood and i am a football coach working as a Lead Phase Coach within an English football Academy. Throughout my career i have coached a vast array of age groups and abilities and have been lucky enough to coach abroad across numerous continents.
I am currently completing my UEFA A License and have just completed studying an Msc in Sports Coaching at Leeds Beckett University. In 2016 i graduated from the Premier Leagues Elite Coach Apprenticeship Scheme (ECAS) after two years of studying as part of the second cohort of coaches to enrol onto the programme. Both my formal education and practical experiences continue to shape my coaching practice.
I am striving to approach my coaching from a pracademic perspective and hope to use this website as a space to share my thoughts and connect with other curios coaches to help make sense of this phenomenon that we call coaching!
Our Purpose
To analyse, research and understand the practice of the coaching community to develop coaching practice for the future player and future game.
A number of years ago I launched a blog under the same name as I took my first steps into sharing some thoughts around the world of coaching on an online platform. In the last year we have seen the good within the coaching community by where much knowledge and practice has been shared as we adapted to a new way of living and working from home. Seeing all the content created has inspired me to relaunch my blog in the new form of a more enriched website and join in and give back to the coaching fraternity.
Aswell as inspring me the recent spike in online content has allowed me to identify a number of themes, commonalities and gaps within the world of online coach development resources. The intent for Football 4 The Future is to get into the nitty gritty of coaching by discussing theory and practice and putting real life scenarios and experiences under the microscope to help make sense of coaches practice.
Often we as coaches are deterred from discussing the specifics of why we do what we do and how we done what we did due to the complex nature of coaching. I hope that this website can be just one of many spaces to support coaches in navigating the tricky landscape of coaching to help develop the players within your context.
